Hello...

It's been a while... but I'm still here!

I've been pretty busy over the past month or so ... excitingly I've joined the
Mens Fashion Magazine team! YAY! I'm now a weekly fashion contributor, producing articles on Men's trends, Style inspirations and Fashion subcultures.

I've been working for the magazine now for just over a month, it's challenging but really fun! I enjoy working out of my comfort zone; as its the first time I've written professionally for a male fashion audience.

I've had three articles published online which I'm really pleased with. I love researching for a new piece, I aim to produce something different to the last. Below are some screenshots of my work with links below.

I will be doing another post very soon and tell you lots more about the magazine!

Sorry it's such a short one today!

Hope you enjoyed reading my work, what do you think?

Teddy Boys

I do love a good Mod and especially a Rocker or Greaser. Teddy boys however happen to be one of my fave fashion subcultures. I think its the slick rockabilly quiff, trademark Bolo (cowboy) neck-tie and streamlined drainpipe jackets that do it for me.

Its not the first post on teddies I've done before; I've come across some more great photographs to share with you, but unfortunately they are all anonymous and I cannot credit a photographer or an exact date for these.

WHISTLES AW/12 LOOKBOOK

Images from Whistles.co.uk

As many folk may already know... I work for the beautiful British brand that is
W H I S T L E S. Just thought I'd share with you some images from the new look book for AW/12/13, they are too nice not to be flaunted!

With the end of Spring/Summer commencing just last week, everyone is looking ahead now into Autumn Winter. When it comes to my favourite season I definitely prefer wrapping up warm with lots of layers and watching the leaves all change colour.

It'll soon be here! Autumn is just around the corner...

This season Whistles are showcasing a beautiful capsule collection of winter luxe, expect to see lots of lace, leather, glistening tweeds and brocade fabrics. Subtle prints have an Asian influence that has transcended into sharp cut silk trousers and high fashion separates.

The collection is very wearable, cohesive and intrinsically highlights several of this season's key trends...
  • Metalwork
  • English Heritage
  • Cocoon Coats
  • Trans-Siberian
  • Leather and
  • Black

Chic silhouettes are cut with high quality printed silks, wool and woven brocade fabrics. The Whistles palette is of marine blue, navy, black, khaki green, soft camels, gold and glistening tones.

Oversized leather jackets and tailored separates are worked in to give an androgynous edge to contemporary feminine shapes.

Nostalgic influences of the 60's, 70's and 80's, can be noted too in this stunning collection.

Stylized silhouettes typically associated with these decades, have been cleverly re-worked by the brand and modernised, to create a special capsule collection that will appeal to every 21st Century woman.

Renowned for its fashion forward approach, this year the British brand has retained its effortlessly chic style producing a collection that cleverly transitions casual jersey to evening cocktail dresses. Classic apparel thats endlessly perfect for our current climate to the cold winter months ahead.

What do you think of the new collection? I've already been eyeing up some lovely pieces for my next installment of AutumnWinter uniform! I think I'm in love with everything! :)

Viv, Malcolm and some teddies...

Vivienne Westwood & Malcolm Mclaren in their shop 'Let It Rock' circa 1972

I have been such an avid fan of these two for as long as I can remember. They are probably two of my most favourite people, perfectly embodying youth and eccentricity, an incredible partnership completely ahead of their time.

Malcolm showing off some snazzy attire in their shop, which paid homage to American culture and 1950's Rock & Roll. Originally this was a lucrative idea to rebel against the hippie culture and fashion of the early 70's.

Vivienne; an icon in the making. Loving the kitsch decor in the shop and her fluffy yellow jumper.

Malcolm showcasing the shops stock surrounded by 1950's American rock & roll memorabilia.

Venus; An early design by the duo combining unusual materials such as horse hair, rubber tyre trim and studs.

Rock : Bolied chicken bones, leather and chains.

Some ace tattooed teddies

Most probably a late 70's Teddy boy judging by the bright attire; brilliantly sticking out like a red thumb.

Teddy wedding, some ace suits and quiffs, not to mention the leopard lapels.

Such a bunch of dudes xxx
