It's been a while since I wrote a post this year, what better way than to share with you some lovely images by Leeds Painter Joash Woodrow. 

If you haven't been lucky enough to come across his work before, Joash was of Polish/ Jewish heritage and studied at Leeds College of Art in the early 50's. He then went on to attend the Royal College of Art after winning a scholarship. 

A recluse for most of his life, Joash resided in Chapel Allerton where he carried on painting until his death in 2006. Art was a big part of his life and in retrospective he created over 700 paintings aside from thousands of sketches and drawings too. 

Some have referred to him as the Lowry of Leeds", I love the gestural mark-making and sensitive approach to colour in his work. 

His portraits are pretty ace too.

I do love a sunny family day out. These photos were taken last month when the weather was utterly gorgeous! I visited my lovely Nana Agnes at Knott-end-on-sea, we went for a lovely walk around the sea front. Later in the day I went for lunch with my parents in Saint Anne's Lytham and ate the most amazing home-made burger, didn't manage to get a photo though. I wish the weather would turn nice again, everything looks better with sunshine!

Monet: The Man Himself

Here is a collection of utterly beautiful paintings by the incredible Claude Monet, that I wanted to share with you.  I have always been a fan of his work especially his variations of the Waterlilies and in particular his Impression of the Sunrise. I love the warm hues in his paintings, the blurry impressionable strokes that create a dreamy and idyllic sense of imagery. 

With no holidays booked so far, I'll just be gazing into more of Monet's paintings for now...the beautiful landscapes and glittering reflections seem to transport my imagination to a wonderful kind of place.

HEATON PARK

Here is a collection of photographs I took last Sunday whilst visiting Heaton Park. Luckily the weather behaved itself and didn't rain all day in the park, even though it was somewhat grey with just small glimpses of sunshine. Me and my boyfriend Billy even managed to grab an ice-cream, it was a very nice day indeed.

My favorite characters of the day were the Alpaca and the Highland Cows, they were so beautiful. I was thinking about doing some drawings from these images, particularly of the ducks and chickens, they were such cuties.

Snow days...

For days, I'd been meaning to take photos in the snow...since the very first drops last week.

I managed to get round to it this week and also captured my dog Charlie who is an Old English Sheepdog in some of the pictures too! He loves the snow and when its windy too, but he prefers to gallop throughout the white fields at the back of my house. I'm quite lucky to have my house back onto a golf course especially when its frosty or has snowed, it always looks really picturesque. On the way home I took some photographs also of All Saints Church and cemetery.
