So me and Luke went away for a few days to York the other weekend. It was so great, the weather rained on and off but we did manage to see a little bit of sunshine. It was my second trip to York, and our first away together. We went to loads of old pubs, a vintage fair, an antiques/gift fair, sat in the square listening to buskers and ate some really nice grub. 

The gallery was lovely, I'd never actually been before and would definitely visit again. So many more things I didn't see or go to, so I'm sure there will be another trip again this year. If you've never visited York, there is so much history, lots of interesting little dark alley ways and cobbled streets. Some great vintage shops too.

I bought some great stuff while I was away, unfortunately on the way home my Canon broke and I've had to send if off, hopefully it won't be too expensive to get fixed. I'll post up some pics up of the stuff soon with my not so sharp olympus camera.

To YORK for Halloween we go... Part 1

Here are some photographs I took last weekend in York. Coinciding with Halloween my favorite Ukrainian twins Hannah, Laura and I decided to spend a few days in the historically spooky Northern town. 

Having never visited York before, I was rather excited and had heard so many lovely things about the place. We wrapped up warm, admired the autumn leaves and wandered around the quaint streets laden with beautiful period buildings.

York Minister was breathtaking, it completely exceeded my expectations with its grand gothic structure.

The loveliest stall holder in York

On the Sunday we came across a fab vintage market stall, owned by a very kind and friendly lady called Donna. Most of her wares were dead-stock, many originally from the 50's and 60's. I was really surprised to find that everything on her stall was actually half of the ticket price, I just couldn't resist a bargain. I bought a dark green hairy wool jacket and matching skirt, that is so warm and with the added bonus of the lining being in perfect pristine condition. I also purchased a thick bright green mohair scarf/wrap and burgundy wool scarf. 

I will have to post some pics up soon of my wares as they are such gems! I'm not ashamed to say I haven't had the coat off since the weekend, it's too cosy! All in all I only spent £25 thanks to Donna's generous ways...I would definitely pay her another visit soon for a Sunday market shopping day. 

 It was such a brilliant trip. I would highly recommend anyone to visit. With it being Halloween and all, me and the girls went to York Dungeons which was highly amusing. I actually got burned at the stake in the last room on the tour for being a *dirty witch* or so I was told. But hey I've lived to tell the tale! xxx

Beside the Sea...

Here are the first lot of photos from my holiday, I took over 500 on one camera so have decided to categorize them in themed posts. Earlier this month I went to Kanoni in Corfu, Greece with a good friend. We were 10 mins walk away from this idyllic bay with cosy cafe's, a sandy beach tucked away around the corner and picturesque scenery of local boats, greenery and a quaint white chapel.

Every evening the sky turned a different array of colors, which was fascinating to watch, and the moon's reflection glistened on the water, it really was one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited. XXX
